Past Editions
2019 edition
The 2019 edition featured the motto “Trust In You”. The motto focused on discussing the importance of trust in digital marketing. This included the required level of trust between companies and users. Around 1000 exhibitors from 40 countries showcased their wares within six halls. The conference programme featured over 600 speakers. 35% of the speakers were women. DMEXCO19 featured 9 conference formats, 4 curated stages and over 150 seminars/WorkLabs. The conference programme was streamed online to allow access to all attendants. The DMEXCO19 additionally hosted the second edition of the SevenVentures Pitch Day. This was an international competition for innovative start-ups. The event took place at Messe Cologne between 11.09.2019 and 12.09.2019.
2020 Edition
DMEXCO20 was the first digital edition of the event. This was necessary as a change due to the COVID-19 pandemic. “Attitude matters” was the motto of the edition. The motto invited decision-makers to discuss what attitude demonstrations mean for the industry. It had a special feature for its online premiere. This was allowing registered exhibitors to invite an unlimited number of guests. This could be done for free and invited attendees received exclusive access to:
- All interactive masterclasses and live sessions of the exhibitor
- Networking with the exhibitors’ employees via chat and audio
- Access to the exhibitor’s showroom
THE DMEXCO20 took place between 23.09.2020 and 24.09.2020. It featured over 20,000 participants, over 800 speakers, and 260 partners. The conference agenda included over 160 hours. Over 10000 participants were live on the platform at the same time. They posted over 60000 messages. 56% of the attendants opted to use audio and video calls throughout the event days. Each conference session recorded an average of 230 viewers. The Conference agenda included 163 masterclasses.
2021 Edition
The 2021 edition was the second digital rendition of DMEXCO. Like the previous year, this was necessary due to the ongoing pandemic. The edition set new records and standards. It featured 20,600 visitors, 600 speakers and 11 conference streams. It occurred between 7.09.2021 and 8.09.2021. During the event, attendants listened to information about important digital and social topics. Attendees also asked questions, networked with each other. 47% of the international speakers were women. Over 150 hours of event time formed the conference agenda. Topics included the end of third-party data and humanised technology. They also featured subjects such as diversity as a long-term goal.
